As part of our Inclusion and Diversity programme here at NCC Group, we introduced our NCC Conversations series to help us to drive dialogue around a number of important topics that our colleagues care about.
Our four core focus areas; Gender, Race and Ethnicity, LGBTQIA+ and Neurodiversity have newly formed, dedicated steering committees, responsible for providing advice, guidance and actions on how we can make NCC Group a more inclusive and diverse place to work, representative of the world we live in.
Each month over the next year, we’ll be taking a deeper look into these four areas, where colleagues will be invited to participate in a whole host of activities from content creation, to workshops, panel discussions and much more.
To kick things off, this September we have been exploring dyslexia as a sub category of neurodiversity.
Dyslexia is a genetic difference in an individual’s ability to learn and process information and can be shown through a person’s ability to read, write and speak.
Did you know around 10-15% of the population experience dyslexia? That's the equivalent of 192-289 of our colleague’s right here at NCC Group.
With this in mind, we invited our colleagues to join us in conversation, where we’ve been challenging taboos and taking a deep dive into what it means to be dyslexic.
Next month, we’re looking forward to taking a deeper dive into Race and Ethnicity, where we’ll be touching on power and prejudice, discrimination, micro-aggression, triggering and racist behavior.
