This week, here at NCC Group we hosted the 2020 light virtual version of the ACE-CSR conference as a Microsoft Teams Live event on 24 & 25 June.
The event brought together leading academics from the most prestigious academic institutions recognised by the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) for their research.
Topics included IoT edge security, digital security by design, cyber resilience methodology and digital responsibility.
NCC Group presented at the conference with Research Director’s Jennifer Fernick and Matt Lewis outlining the NCC Group problem book and how we approach applied commercial research in the vulnerability sphere.
Global CTO, Ollie Whitehouse also presented on Cyber Threat Intelligence and the mechanics, data sources and trade-craft used with the goal of having academics produce new and rich datasets to help advance research.
Omer Rana from Cardiff University comments: "Our Internet of Things and Edge Computing session included a number of invited speakers from industry and academia and it was great working with the team at NCC Group to coordinate our session and ensure everything ran smoothly. Overall, a great experience for us with lots of interesting conversations and ideas to take away."
Ollie adds: “Hosting the first online ACE-CSR has been great fun. A different experience than usual but it certainly didn’t affect the quality of content, with many actionable insights for how we can enhance the quality and scale of academic cyber security research and it turn, the UK’s cyber resilience.”
