NCC Group to support Royal Holloway's Centre for Doctoral Training

12 April 2019

NCC Group has announced that it will be partnering with the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cyber Security for the Everyday at the Royal Holloway University of London, providing advice and guidance to researchers undertaking a PhD programme in cyber security.

As well as providing support on research projects, the team at NCC Group will deliver guest lectures and presentations throughout the programme, which will see 10 researchers undertake a year of multi-disciplinary cyber security training, followed by three years of research into a specialist area of security.

The Centre for Doctoral Training, funded by the UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, broadens Royal Holloway’s expertise in information security research and is dedicated to addressing a wide range of challenges concerning the security of the technologies and systems that people use every day.

This is one of many academic outreach programmes that NCC Group is involved in, and follows the launch of the company’s partnership with the University of Surrey to advance security research within the space industry.

Commenting on this partnership, Matt Lewis, research director at NCC Group, said: “Collaboration between the cyber security industry and academia is vital to help develop the next generation of highly-skilled cyber security specialists and provide them with an in-depth understanding of today’s threat landscape.

“We’re extremely proud to be partnering with Royal Holloway University, and look forward to working with some of the most talented minds in the cyber security arena to help solve the security challenges affecting people and businesses today and in the years to come.”
