Due to their relatively low cost, small size and easy of distribution smart cards have become a popular choice for security when designing a system. They are often regarded as tamper proof devices where data can be physically protected, but this is not the case and it should be remembered that physical systems still have vulnerabilities and that smart cards are not tamper-proof.
This paper will demonstrate how there smart cards can be susceptible to attacks by showing an Electromagnetic Analysis attack on a smart card, using limited resources and with limited technical knowledge.
